How much did Felicity's chocolate set ORIGINALLY cost?

I've seen a couple of BINs for 89.00 and 98.00, and am wondering what the price was when it was available online? (Or approximately?)

As much as I'd like to have it, I can't justify paying more than the price of another AG doll. Maybe I'll just wait for the new chocolate set (or has the new tea set replaced the old chocolate set?)

It was 58.00, so not a cheap item even before it was discontinued.

I think it was about $59 maybe? I can't remember now, but I was looking at one of my old catalogs (from 1997! nearly ten years out of date!) and it says the chocolate set is $55. I am pretty sure the price had gone up a few dollars though. I really want this set too! I doubt I'll ever get all of Lissie's retired items, though. A lot of them are so expensive on ebay.

I remember somebody saying there will be a new chacolate set. You can't replace the chacolate set with the tea set since that goes against Felicity's books.

I bought the chocolate set a month ago because I just had a feeling it was going to go away. I paid $59. It is really too much for what I got, though, considering it wasn't retired at the time.

On another post ninasmom and nikki both said their personal shoppers told them the chocolate set was being revised NOT retired. The PS said that it would be unavailable for awhile and then reintroduced. However, other PSs said that the set was being retired and replaced with the tea set. If I didn't own the chocolate set already and couldn't get it from AG for $59, I would hold off on getting it. It would be very upsetting to pay $98 on e-Bay and then have AG reintroduce it for around $59. They were selling them at the AG Outlet this summer for around $30 if I remember correctly. There is a chance that there are still some up there in Oshkosh.

The Chocolate Sets were $32 ONLY during the four day sale. After that, they sold at full retail. The outlet is now sold out as well.

If the set was going to be redesigned far off in the future...they wouldn't have cleared out the stock this summer. I would be very surprised if it came back at this point. After all, the other two items that were highly discounted have already been redesigned.
